About Me
My name is Reverend Virginia Marie Rincón and I serve as a sacred officiant and celebrant for weddings, births, home blessings, celebration of life and funeral rites. LGBTQ-friendly and inclusive of all spiritualities. Your ceremony is your own. I bring a diverse background to draw on, including being an Episcopal priest and traditional curandera.
My Story
My grandmother, María Nestora, was my first maestra. She would greet me after school with a taquito or a bit of pan dulce, and use a broom made out of herbs to brush and clear away the day's inequities. Through her loving example, I learned about the necessity and benefits of spiritual healing in the world.
After 20 years as a nurse in the public sector, I went on to receive my BLS in Social Work from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. In 1997, I received my Master's in Divinity from The Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA and was ordained as an Episcopal Priest in 2003. My years in ministry focused on liberation, spirituality, and the healing of mind, body, and soul. I went on to found Tengo Voz, a nonprofit dedicated to the empowerment and leadership of Latina women in Maine. I returned to the path my grandmother initially prepared for me as a curandera, and my spirituality encompasses all faiths.
I now live and work in Los Angeles, California and I feel most whole as I support people on their spiritual path.
